JON GOLNIK ANNOUNCES: "Can You Hear Us Now?" District Wide Tour

For Immediate Release:
March 25, 2010

Carlisle, Ma—5th District Congressional Candidate Jon Golnik is announcing a 10 day, 50 stop tour beginning Monday, March 29 and running through Wednesday, April 8. The "Can You Hear Us Now?" Tour will bring Jon to all 29 Towns within the 5th Congressional District and coincides with Congress's 'Spring District Work Period'.

The scheduled Congressional recess is intended to give Niki Tsongas and her colleagues time to return to their home districts to meet with voters--something Congresswoman Tsongas neglected to do sufficiently before casting her disastrous vote for health care last week. Members of the press and public are welcome to join Jon at any of his tour stops.

"I am very excited to get out there and meet with the voters of the 5th District to hear directly from them. I believe we need Representatives in Washington who believe their number one duty is to support the interests and needs of the constituents. Congresswoman Tsongas's vote for the unwanted health care bill shows she is more concerned with politics than people," Golnik said. "I will not do that. The best way to know what the people want is to get out there and listen to them and I am very excited to do this."

JON GOLNIK COMMENTS ON HEALTH CARE DEBATE

For Immediate Release:
March 19, 2010

Carlisle, Ma—5th District Congressional Candidate Jon Golnik made the following statement on the impending Health Care vote scheduled for Sunday: "

Vote buying, strong-arming, re-election guilt and outright threats are all being used to force passage of this health care bill. Disturbingly left out of the debate is an argument on the pure merits of the legislation, coupled with a total disregard for the will of the people. This bill and the whole process for passage is an absolute breach of duty by Congress and potentially unconstitutional. Polls uniformly demonstrate that the public is opposed to this legislation, yet Niki Tsongas continues to back it, willing to ram it through by any means necessary. She has failed to hold a town hall forum or any open, public forum on this Senate version of the bill. Come home and talk to us, then go back to Congress fully informed on our opinion of this bill." -- Jon Golnik, Congressional Candidate, Ma-5
